Smarthinking Launches Liberal Arts Math Online Tutoring Support Services

WASHINGTON—February 22, 2012—Smarthinking, Inc., the market leader in higher education online tutoring and academic support, today announced the addition of Liberal Arts Math to its comprehensive mathematics tutoring services. The tutoring is available to all customers, both institutional and consumers.
With the addition of the Liberal Arts Math tutoring support services, students can:
• Receive live, on-demand tutoring (90 percent of Smarthinking Math tutors have a master’s or Ph.D. in their discipline)
• Submit a question for asynchronous response (generally within 24 hours)
• Pre-schedule a live tutoring session
All live tutoring sessions take place one-to-one in Smarthinking’s virtual whiteboard, allowing the tutor and student to collaborate in real time. Tutors use a problem-solving teaching style to help students learn the underlying math concepts and become better equipped to handle future assignments on their own. In addition, all sessions are archived for future use by the student for test preparation.
